A print of one of my designs inspired by molas, a textile art form from the Guna Indians from Panama and Colombia. The Reina Congo (Congo Queen) is one of the characters of the Congo dance, distinguishable for wearing a crown made of tin complemented with other ornaments. She wears a "montuna" skirt and is generally barefeet. She represents the strong woman who led her people in their liberation from slavery and also, the desire for justice and freedom that her ancestors had in colonial times.
This print would make a unique gift for someone who loves Panama or likes to collect Panamanian art (or Latin American art in general). It is also great for those who love colorful and bold artwork that will definitely brighten up any space with splashes of color. The print looks amazing framed in a shadow box or matted with a burlap pattern behind it (my favorite way!).
★ The background color, the crown and dress borders can be customized based on taste, with a quick turnaround time at no extra charge. You can also customize the skin colors (see picture with 4 different skin tones). Please leave me a note at checkout. Prior to printing, I will send a proof via Etsy conversation for approval.
★ Please be aware that I will not be able to ship until the proof is approved. If I don't hear from the buyer after 24 hours, I will send the same message via email. After 3 days of no response, I will extend the shipping date to a week to allow time for the buyer to approve the proof.
Shipped with a 4mm backing and wrapped in a cellophane bag for protection.
Please keep in mind that due to different resolutions on digital screens, actual print colors may differ slightly.
Thank you for supporting my mola-inspired artwork and I hope you enjoy my designs, as much as I do making them. To read more about the process of how I make my paper molas, please visit my About page.
